A soap opera of its own

A soap operas production is set to take place on Irish shores with an actor being hired to perform his role.

The production of The Big Fat Galaga will be co-produced by the Irish National Theatre Company and Irish Film Centre, the production company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The actor, who has been nominated for the Golden Globe for his portrayal of the villain in the film, will be the first Irish actor to appear on the stage in the US.

The announcement came after the actor, whose full name is Andrew Cavanagh, was nominated for best actor at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles.

The show is set for its London premiere at the Royal Court Theatre on Wednesday, but will be aired on the US TV network HBO on Thursday.

The film will be filmed in Ireland, which has a population of roughly 7 million.

The production is being financed by the Dublin Film and Television Fund.
