The oil giant is closing down two of its biggest oil refineries in Mexico and Colombia

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) The oil company that owns and operates three of the world’s largest oil refiners is closing two of them and closing the rest of them.

A spokesman for Texas-based PetroMex said the company will close the refineries at its San Antonio plant and two in Bogota.

PetroMex did not provide details on how the plants would be shut down.

The company has about 600 employees in the United States.

The company operates the refiner, Pecan Ranch, in the Central American nation.

It has said that it will be sold to a private company.

Petropavilion Corp., the company’s sister company in Colombia, has said it will close its plant in San Antonio.

That plant makes petrochemical products for Petropavillion.
